"Final Major Project"

After discovering my love for the Roaring Twenties I decided it would be the perfect title for my final college project. I wanted to create lingerie & nightwear inspired by the era.
From my research I gathered that the women began to rebel with and Coco Chanel was a huge trend setter. Shorter hemlines, the boyish figure and glamour all became fashionable. Women wore dresses that suppressed their curves but created a lot of movement when it came to dancing the Charleston.
I wanted to create nightwear inspired by the pictures below that don't reveal too much but let the male imagination wander.

More to come

"I'm Back"

With the madness of my final project finally over I've found time to focus on blogging again. So sorry I've been absent recently. You'll see what I've been up to in the next few posts. I just wanted to share with you my latest love... my new Zara shoes!! I'm not normally a fan of orange but these are beauties!

What do you think?

"Corsets & Lingerie"

I know I've been terrible at blogging recently!
I've been so busy! I did, however, manage to visit a
museum in Leicester that had an amazing lingerie and corsetry section.
Here are some of my pictures:

This 1890's corset named "The Pretty Corset" was the cheapest corset
you could buy at the time. Isn't it stunning compared to the cheap corsets you
can buy now?! So much attention to detail. Below shows the gorgeous
blue flossing used to hold the boning in place. This corset (and the ventilated corset below)
were designed for the domestic work maids.

This corset is a "ventilated corset" designed to prevent the work maid
from becoming too hot.

"How Do You Store Your Lingerie?"

Something got me thinking about how people store their lingerie.
I, personally, colour coordinate mine and store them in a row
(like the second picture) in a drawer with my knickers aligned next
to the bras. I find it really easy to pick out the coloured bra I want
(yes, I am one of those obsessive people who like to have the colour
of their top match their bra and knickers!)
I find this is the most convenient way of storing my underwear,
nothing gets tangled, twisted or lost and I don't have enough
wardrobe space if I wanted to hang my bras up anyway.

How pretty is all the lace in the picture above?

My underwear drawer looks a lot like this, however, the bras
aren't folded and I don't have as many!

I'd love to store all of my bras on pretty silk coat hangers,
they'd be so much easier to see and it would look so
pretty having them all hanging instead of in a drawer. Although,
I do like having my lavender scented hearts amongst my bras!

Let me know how you store your underwear and if you have
and special tips :)

"Les Jupons De Tess"

Say hello to my new favourite brand!!!
I really am someone who loves attention to detail
and this brand does exactly that!! Diamante bra straps,
pretty lace detailing and beautiful little fascinators!
Click to make the pictures bigger
Whoever knew white stilettos could look so sexy?!
I absolutely love the triangle bra above. It's so effortless
but so pretty

Sparkles! As if I wasn't already in love with this brand enough
you can imagine my reaction when I see sparkly suspenders!!
And I think I may of finally found an alternative for those awful "stick on bras"
when wearing backless clothes...  why not show off a Swarovski Crystal encrusted
bra back? It's gorgeous! I'd feel so glamorous wearing it even if it wasn't
on show!
How I haven't come across this French brand before is beyond me.
Caroline Tannous (the designer) designed the collection to reflect
the glamor and elegance of the 18th Century women.
I personally don't think it could be more perfect! It's
the kind of lingerie you'd want to spend hours getting ready
in and the kind that gives you that extra confidence boost when
you know it's beneath your clothes.

To add more excitement to my day both Les Jupons De Tess
and LJT (its more affordable sister label for a
younger audience) will be debuting in the UK this month
at Moda.

"Christian Louboutin Capsule Collection"

20 Shoes For 20 Years

...........................................................................................
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Christian Louboutin, they've
released 20 pairs of shoes exclusive to their facebook fans!
With no set theme, Louboutin has created 20 pairs of shoes using
the themes and techniques that have come to define Christian Louboutin
over the last 20 years. Architectural forms, fine art, show girls and cabaret
are all elements displayed through this collection.

My personal favourite would have to be the fourth pair down-
"The Lady Gres"
I think it's the colour! I also quite like the first pair with
the chunky golden heal! Overall, I can imagine at least one pair of these
appeals to every woman.

Which is your favourite?

"Bra Types"

 T-Shirt Bra:
The most basic of bras. Designed to look barely visible with no decoration or raised seems.
The T-Shirt bra has slight padding to make the breasts look smooth.

...............................................................................
Padded Bra:
The padded bra provides support but does not lift like the push up bra.
It's very similar to the T-Shirt bra but has detail.
................................................................................

Plunge Bra:
Allows clothes with lower neck lines to be worn without the bra being visible because of the diagonal cups and the wider space in the middle. The U-Plunge bra is designed for really low tops/dresses (below).

................................................................................

Push Up Bra:
Enhances cleavage because the padding at the sides pushes the breasts
together unlike padded bras.
Wonderbra is renowned for fab push up bras!!

 ................................................................................

Demi Bra:
Has wide straps and a horizontal bust line.
Often has boning or slight padding for extra support.
Designed to provide a more fuller bust shape.

................................................................................

Balconette Bra:
Very similar to the Demi Bra but has less coverage and more uplift.
It doesn't push the breasts together like the Push Up bra.

................................................................................

Strapless Bra:
Designed for strapless tops and dresses.
The most reliable have wide bands around the back,
boning under the arms, deep under-wiring at the front and
silicone strips along the inside to reduce slipping.
Such a useful bra to have but I have yet to find a comfortable
and well fitting one. Please let me know if you recommend any!
Some strapless bras also come with attachable straps which can be
worn in multiple ways.

 ................................................................................

Sports Bra:
Definitely not the most sexy of bras! The sports bra is designed
to give firm support, prevent discomfort and to keep the breasts
in place to stop tissue damage during exercise.

................................................................................

Full Cup Bra:
Ideal for large breasts and pregnant women. The full cup bra
supports the whole breast and covers them too.

................................................................................

Minimizer Bra:
The minimizer compresses and shapes the breasts to give the illusion of
at least one cup size smaller. Ideal for 34C and above.

................................................................................

I hope this post was either interesting or useful! Please let me know
about any bras you recommend and what you think to different
kinds of bras. And sorry about some of the dodgy drawings!
